Hi! My name is Megan Solloway and I am a Registered Dietitian with a mission to promote thrivacious health. What is thrivacious health you ask? Thrivacious is when nutrition, fitness, and mindset collide to create an energetic, joyous life that works for YOU! It's also a combination of "thrive" and "vivacious" if you want to get technical. Thrivacious is a blog dedicated to both everyday professionals (engineers, stay-at-home moms, etc.) and health professionals (dietitians, trainers, etc.).
I have two goals for this blog:
Thrivacious Health for All
As a dietitian and trainer, you would think I have it all together, right? Not quite! I have a weakness for ice cream and would prefer a nap over deadlifts most of the time. But that's okay! As a former fitness competitor, I've been through the crazy restrictive, crash diets. While I can never understand what you have gone through, I empathize with the pressure of perfection when dieting. That's why I left restrictive dieting behind, and you can too!
My goal is to provide the information you need to make informative decisions about your health and lifestyle. I will share what I am learning in my Master's Program in Nutrition and Human Performance so you too can learn the latest in nutrition and how to apply it to your daily life. I know life can get crazy, so I promise to make these short and applicable to your lifestyle.
Shout-out to my Fellow Registered Dietitians!
I have a hidden (okay, maybe not so hidden) talent for graphic design. I have had no formal training in graphic design. I learned how to create awesome graphics and presentations all on my own! While I have had tons of practice, this is attainable for you and your practice. Not only attainable, but important as up to 65% of us are visual learners. While handouts with paragraphs of text have their place, a printable info-graphic can drive the main points home to your audience (and give them something cool to put on their fridge). To create graphics, I use Piktochart and Canva. These online platforms are user friendly and best of all, FREE! I use the pro versions, but at least you don't have to pay to play around. Stay tuned for tutorials and inspiration.
